Saaf Mohalla Saaf Pakistan recently organized a remarkable one-day workshop at the Poor Patient Welfare Society School as part of our outreach effort. This initiative was all about fostering awareness and action towards a cleaner, greener Pakistan!
The enthusiastic students (nursery-Grade5) were eager to learn aboutwaste management. They learned about the concept of waste, the hazards of incorrect disposal, the importance of recycling, and the various waste categories.
We took a hands-on approach to learning. Three bins for separating and sorting the dry waste were introduced. Each bin was marked for collection of paper/ cardboard, plastic and tetrapack waste respectively.Students actively sorted waste according to its category. This practical exercise taught them the importance of responsible waste disposal. 🚮
We understand the gravity of the plastic pollution problem. That’s why, in commemoration of World Clean-Up Day, we asked our students to collect and bring used plastic bags to the school.
We didn’t stop at awareness; we ventured into action! Our students were introduced to the exciting world of upcycling. Single-use plastic bags brought by the students were transformed into creative treasures.
One of the highlights of the workshop was the creation of skipping ropes from those single-use plastic bags. It’s incredible how a simple item can be reborn into something fun and functional!
This workshop was a testament to our commitment to a cleaner, safer Pakistan. We believe in empowering the next generation with the knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on our environment.
Thank you to all the students, faculty of Poor Patient Welfare Society School and our team who made this event a success.
