Plantation Drive in F10, Islamabad

Saaf Mohalla Saaf Pakistan joined hands with the Green Squad, Capital Development Authority (CDA), and students of Safa Mera Primary School to catalyze a dynamic plantation drive in F10/1, Islamabad. This collaborative effort stands as a testament to the power of community action in nurturing a greener future.

The event’s commencement saw children uniting with fervor, the students of Safa Mera Primary School took the lead by starting the event with the recitation of the holy Quran and the national anthem. Dr. Mehr, founder of Saaf Mohalla Saaf Pakistan, inspired the young minds with her opening address, emphasizing the significance of their role of inculcating love of nature and tree in young minds in shaping a cleaner environment.

As Chief Guest, Dr. Imran Saqib Khalid, Director Governance and Policy at WWF-Pakistan, shared insights on the importance of planting trees for climate change mitigation. Mr. Hassan Abdullah from the Green Squad captivated young listeners with a compelling narrative on the vital role of   planting native trees that in addition to combatting climate change; strengthen the local ecosystems by being home to birds, bees and other natural life.

Dr. Imran marked the event’s symbolic beginning by sowing the inaugural plant, followed by children enthusiastically planting 100 saplings. This collective action is a testament to the community’s dedication to environmental well-being.
